“I worked with Laurence over many years on the delivery of a mixed use development on a site owned by the Council near the centre of Rugby, next door to the railway station.

The Council had aspirations for the site that were immediately understood and shared by Laurence. The site is within one of the more deprived areas of Rugby and the Council wanted something that was both a quality development in itself but also enhanced the neighbouring areas and improved this important gateway to the town. Laurence grasped this immediately and shared in that vision.

Delivery of the site started just as the recession started to bite and to keep it going in these difficult times required pragmatism, flexibility and innovation on behalf of the Council and the developer. Laurence was always looking for new and original ways to approach seemingly intractable problems and these were discussed and pursed by him and the Council in the spirit of a true and trusting partnership.

Whilst parts of the development remains to be completed much is already built and it is largely testament to Laurence’s vision, drive and hard work that it fulfils the Council’s original aspirations for the site.”
